Immigration Intercepts Foreign Rice in Katsina

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has intercepted 42 bags of foreign rice at Kankara axis of Katsina State, he Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Mr. Sunday James disclosed in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

He confirmed that the rice was concealed in a vehicle, adding that officers of the Service were on routine patrol along the Kankara axis when they apprehended the vehicle carrying the contraband.

He noted that the Command Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Katsina State command, Yakubu Umar, handed over the 42 bags of rice to the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Comptroller General, NIS, Mr. Muhammad Babandede has congratulated the officers for a well-coordinated outing, imploring them to be more dedicated to the national course and keep the border secured for a safe nation.
